In addition to the public events, during the spring and summer months there is a lot of maintenance work in the orchard. This includes mowing, weeding, mulching, checking the trees, clearance of brambles and dogwood.
Now that Spring has sprung, and the clocks have changed, there are regular work evenings in the orchard. On the first and third Monday evening of the month, from April to October (in other words, during the British Summer Time period). The first evenings will be 7 th and 21 st April, and 5 th and 19 th May. (first and third Mondays). A member of the Dorking Orchard team will be in the orchard from about 4:30 pm, to
allocate tasks and organise the work that needs doing.
If you have light gardening tools and gloves please bring what you can.
Not everyone can make Monday evenings, so this year as an experiment, we will also hold Wednesday work evenings, in the middle of each month.
